An anchor baby is a child born in a country specifically to receive citizenship rights, and thereby 'anchor' the child's family to the country in which it was born. Immigration reductionists often cite this practice as a demonstration of a failure in a nation's immigration policy. Yesterday, CNN had a poll on this issue and 80% andiences thought this was weired.
