Bad Münstereifel is a historical spa town in the district of Euskirchen Germany with about 19,000 inhabitants, situated in the far south of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The little town is one of only few historical towns in the very south of North Rhine-Westphalia, and that is why in spring, summer, and autumn it is sometimes overcrowded with tourists.

The most prominent figure currently living in the town is the folk-singer Heino. Twenty years ago, that rôle was filled by Dr Otto Graf Lambsdorff, a prominent politician of the Free Democratic Party (FDP). The most famous historical figure born in Bad Münstereifel was Dr Friedrich Haass, the "holy doctor from Moscow" (in the 19th century).

AfaIk, Dr Count Lambsdorff will give a public lecture on life & work of Dr Haass in Bad Muenstereifle, November, 25th, Friday, 2005, 17:00 p.m.
