Protection

Hey there...I think Wikipedia:Recentchanges should be protected...I managed to load a page and actually click "edit this page" - and I'm only an IP! --216.191.200.1 18:19, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No, that's not what I meant...I already know about the Magic of the Wiki.
I went to Wikipedia talk:Recentchanges, and it says that the page is permanently protected due to its prominence. But yet, I can click on the "edit this page" link, the text appears, and I can even type in it. I'll even edit in that page right now. Shouldn't that be impossible for me? --216.191.200.1 18:29, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Part II

Rdsmith4, I can only edit user talk pages, and I'm just a little annoyed that I get blocked for something I didn't do. But I understand why you blocked Peniste. (stupid name) 22:45, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Q1werty

Q1werty was improperly blocked due to the fact that four administrators blocked this user infinitely four times. This is a minor notification that his block has been appropriately fixed. If it hasn't, then there's a bug in the MediaWiki system and should be reported. When I checked the logs on this person, I found that there were four infinite blocks on this user:

  • 23:11, 10 October 2005 Rdsmith4 blocked "User:Q1werty" with an expiry time of indefinite (Vandal)
  • 23:24, 10 October 2005 Redwolf24 blocked "User:Q1werty" with an expiry time of indefinite (Vandalisms!)
  • 23:42, 10 October 2005 Katefan0 blocked "User:Q1werty" with an expiry time of indefinite (Page move vandal)
  • 09:48, 11 October 2005 The Anome blocked "User:Q1werty" with an expiry time of indefinite (vandalism-only user)

One thing I noticed is that there was no notice on this particular user's talk page stating the user was infinitely blocked. Anyway, just letting you know what happened. --AllyUnion (talk) 09:17, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please pay attention to the whole recent article history when reverting vandals. Sometimes they flock together. mikka (t) 18:01, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support on my RfA!

Thanks for your support of my adminship!! I was surprised at the turnout and support I got! If you ever have any issues with any of my actions, please notify me on my talk page! Thanks again! Not sure what to say - was pretty surprised you supported Dan :) - thanks! Ryan Norton T | @ | C 04:30, 13 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Adoptfirefox.jpg

I see you chose to delete Image:Adoptfirefox.jpg marking it as nonsense. Care to explain why you considered it so? The image linked to 8 people's pages, including me, had versions in a few other languages and was anything but nonsensical. I'm puzzled. Dunemaire 13:07, 14 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I thought you did it because of this:[1]. It's the only place where it shows an actual name of an user deleting something . The image doesn't show up. I understand you didn't do it, however I have no further ideas of where to look for it (or for the deleter of the image). Oh well, it wasn't that important. L1AM established a WikiProject for Philmont Scout Ranch. I added some formatting and structure to it today to help it get started. I just want to let to let you know that it exists in case you want to be involved. Solarusdude 20:40, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It is my pleasure to tell you that Image:Bentley badge and hood ornament-BW.jpg has been promoted to Featured Picture. Congratulations! Raven4x4x 03:00, 16 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

heh srry i'll stop... but its not as if u save any of my pages when i make them! my last few got erased... why is that? huh?

Please don't use {test3} as a first warning

Hello! Please don't use {test3} as a first warning, especially when there is no real history of vandalism from the IP. Use the test templates in order. Please read WP:BITE. Thank you, and keep up the good fight against vandalism. :) --Ashenai (talk) 15:46, 19 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Response to Friend/Fiend

I used Fiend due to its simalrity to friend not as is arch enemy meaning, as a play on words. I keep a list so I know who everyone is? I will change it to other users but keep it for the same uses. I added her after she vandalized (from my view) my talk page, I am not sure about the prohibited, I have seen worse attacks see Alleged causes of Hurricane Katrina but wll change it.

You did not reply to my reponse on the talk page. I'm not sure if that means that you're satisfied with my reasoning or if you moved on to something else or if you still have not gotten around to replying. I'm looking forward to a reply on the talk page so that we can arrive at a soultion on that page that satisfies both of us. Regards, 172 | Talk 03:40, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Hey Dan, I just wanted to thank you for taking time out of your day to promote me for adminship. I'm sure being a bureaucrat is a lot of work, and I just wanted to make sure you knew your actions are appreciated. :) -Greg Asche (talk) 02:45, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Appologies

Hi

You sent me a message warning me not to vandalise wikipedia - I'm on a public computer and I haven't even edited one page today, so I guess someone else using this computer earlier was vandalising it.

Sorry for the hassles

Hi! I'm the legitimate user 68.194.108.16 - the "good" Wikipedian under this IP. Apparently, this IP has either been hijacked by or is being shared with an unscrupulous person, so I hereby make myself clear and apologize for any inconvenience/confusion that has occurred. --68.194.108.16 00:08, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Darth Boz

I am so sorry. I didn't know that this would actually go on the internet. I will stop doing this immediately. Some guy told me that user messages aren't actually real. Sorry. I won't do it again. But the legend of Darth Boz actually does exist. Its actually called "Boz-e-bad" in persian. I'll fix that page to the actual legend. Sorry.

but

I would also be more likely to get ostracized and not be able to collaborate on articles, which is my main interest. I'm putting together and expanding a really good one right now actually and would rather have nothing interfere with my work on Wikipedia.Wikiphilosopher 17:57, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Talk history

I made a note on the talk page being moved (@ the top) and where the other history can be seen. JDR 18:21, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Gandhism reverts

What is the meaning of this? I'm in process of revising the article, and you arbitrarily wipe out hours of hard work.

Thank you

Thank you for clarifying, and your tip. I would be only happy to have you cricitize and help me make this article better.

Thanks! (dvyost RfA)

Dan, much obliged for your support in my recent RfA, particularly the support of my Frost quote. =) Cheers, --Dave 14:11, 29 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Brandt

Since it was unprotected thepage has been blanked 5 times in an hour. Brandt has askedon his wikipedia watch site "Who will rid me of this meddlesome article?" [2].

As a result, he and his freinds are vandalising it systematically. What to do?

Concerning a vandal you have warned

168.9.212.7 has been vandalising well after his final warning. He just repeatedly vandalised European Union and I posted on his user talk page.

~Link9er

Thanks for blocking Lysdexia, she was being a very annoying troll. I was wondering, however, why the indefinite block? It seemed to me a bit excessive, but I maybe don't know the whole story. --best, kevin ···Kzollman | Talk··· 15:30, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No doubt about her causing trouble. After I left this note I read up on the RFC. What a strange person, she must lead a very unhappy life. I'm sorry for pestering you about it, I'm a young admin and I'm trying to get my feet wet regarding the blocking policy. I din't think that blocks longer than a month were allowed without ArbCom declarations. Is this wrong? --best, kevin ···Kzollman | Talk··· 22:27, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

My RFA

Thank you very much for supporting my rather contentious request for adminship, but now that I've been promoted, I'd like to do a little dance here *DANCES*. If you have any specific issues/problems with me, please feel free to state them on my talk page so that I can work to prevent them in the future, and thanks once again!  ALKIVAR 07:55, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
