Issues

The first major issue is that my support vote for Gamma is not showing up on the main list. A minor issue I have is that I think the nomination instructions might be better off before the nomination list. Zhatt 18:30, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, now it's working. I forgot that the cashe need to be cleared; I can't simply refresh. Zhatt 18:32, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, the refresh thing is a bit of a pain. I'm sure there's a way to get the main page (alpha) to be updated in the WP cache servers when a subpage is updated; that way, the client doesn't need to think about these things. As for the location of the instructions - OK! Mindmatrix 20:29, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Anohter idea: The support votes should be numbered. Zhatt 18:36, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed; I'll make the change. Mindmatrix 20:29, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Bread trail

I've been thinking about the link that would lead you back to the main page from the voting page. Just to clarify, if the main page was User:Mindmatrix/alpha, the voting page should actaully be User:Mindmatrix/alpha/gama to have the back link work. This link is a little small and some newbies might not notice it, but since most of the users on the Canadian Noticeboard have been on Wikipedia for some time, I think most would know about this link. Zhatt 18:21, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You're exactly right that gamma would be a sub-page of alpha in the real system. It was my fault for flattening things out in the test system, and also for making the test article and nomination page the same thing. I do agree that most users of the current CCOTW are somewhat experienced, at the very least, so I have to agree with you that it's not a major concern. Template

Alright, I think all the kinks are worked out, so now I'd like to know if the template is OK, or if anything should change. The only thing I can think of is adding a Comments section. Mindmatrix 20:54, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I don't believe a comments section is nessisary. If one wants to add a comment, they could add it. ...but it just came to me that if a comments section is not added, people will be commenting in their votes. So, it'll depend if you want people commenting after their votes, witch could get messy if people start replying to the votes. Maybe a comments section would be a good idea. It doesn't take up that much space. Zhatt 21:52, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Eh.

While commenting on the Eh entry, I noticed that the bread-treal does, infact, work. I also notice that the link to edit the page only mentions voting, and not commenting. Maybe the link should be changed from add your vote to vote or comment, so no one is sitting there complaining "But Ah don wana vote! Ah wana comment on dem page, but Ah donno how to do dat!" Zhatt 18:31, 16 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm also thinking that the vote or comment link should be on its own line, not after the reason for the nomination. The reason is going to be varying lengths so one would have to search for the link each time one wanted to vote (or comment). It just speeds things up having it in the same place all the time. Zhatt 18:46, 16 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and made the above changes. I also added bullet to comments section as comments do not need to be numberd. Adding a bullet there makes sure we have some confomity. The bullet does not show up when there is no text beside it, so it does not take up any extra space when there are no comments. Zhatt 18:51, 16 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
