In the context of human sexual behavior, frottage or frotteurism is the act of obtaining sexual gratification by rubbing one's (clothed or naked) body against another person. Frotteurism carries a connotation of 'anonymous and discreet rubbing' in a public place - like on a crowded train. The contact may be mutual or a one-way exchange. A person who practices frotteurism is known as a frotteur.

As with most other sexual practices, frottage with a non-consenting person is regarded as a form of sexual assault in most jurisdictions. A widely-practiced form of frotteurism is inter-crural intercourse aka interfemoral intercourse.

"Frot" (short for frottage) or "phrot" (alternate spelling) among homosexual men tends to imply genital to genital rubbing in a conventional private context, the female equivalent is sometimes referred to as tribadism.

With regard to homosexuality, some have interpreted Leviticus to mean that whereas penetrative sex (sodomy) is wrong, frotteurism is acceptable. They point to the passage of the bible that says "man shall not lie with a man as he lie with a woman" and claim that this means that it is sin for a man to penetrate another man (since typical sex with a woman involves intercourse). Sometimes they even point to historical evidence in ancient Hebrew culture that describe frottage-only relationships between men as being celebrated, but sodomy being prosecuted. Though such speculations about the relationship between David and Jonathan have scriptural basis, no description of any specific sexual act is given.
