Tarabuco is best known as the home of the Pujllay festival held in March each year. Members of the local indigenous community gather for Mass, parades in their colorful traditional costumes, drinking plenty of chicha, and celebrating.

Each Sunday, a colorful and vibrant open-air market attracts locals and tourists alike. Many people wear traditional costumes, which not only preserve their identity but also advertise their place of origin to others.
