The following is a list of Rock Instrumentals, including live performances and drum solos.

Criteria

  1. Only music in the Rock genre may be placed on this list.
  2. If an instrumental has several sections, the parts should be grouped together (Foo Parts I-V, La Villa Strangiato)
  3. If one section of a song is an instrumental, that section alone may be placed on this list.
  4. Different versions do not count (Pink Floyd’s Careful With That Axe, Eugene and Murderistic Women), unless the song itself has additions, such as a drum solo. This also includes studio/live instrumentals; only one example should be given.
  5. If a song has voices or a single line of voice that is not considered lyrics in official publications of the song(s), then the song may be placed on the list.
  6. Drum solos are allowed, including live drum solos (Neil Peart's Rhythm Method, O Baterista, and Der Trummler).
  7. Live instrumentals (including songs converted to be instrumentals) or impromptu rock performances are also allowed (Queen's Impromptu, Brighton Rock, etc.)
