Philip Kenneth Collen is one of the guitarists for Def Leppard. He joined the band in 1982 following the firing of Pete Willis.

Collen was born in Hackney, East London, England on December 8th, 1957. And because of this region, he speaks with a Cockney accent. Phil is an exceptional song-writer and an outstanding guitarist. In his career, he has been a member of such bands as Lucy, Tush, Dumb Blondes, Girl and Cybernauts. Def Leppard, however, was his future, and he has remained with them for a long time now. His closest friend in Leppard was the late Steve Clark, a fellow guitarist that lost his battle with dipsomania. Together, they earned the title of the Terror Twins. Before Steve's tragic death, Collen became a teetotaler. Eventually, Phil married Jacqueline and the two had a son named Rory James Collen. Unfortunately, the union ended in divorce, and in time, Phil married Anita Thomas. It was recently learned that Phil has a daughter by the name of Samantha by Michele. He remains married to Anita.

Recently, Phil organized a band of his own called Man-Raze, comprised of former Girl bandmate, Simon Laffy, and the drummer from the Sex Pistols, Paul Cook.

Phil Collen is a vegan, although he occasionally will eat chocolate. Phil is a kickboxer and loves Indian food. Phil performs typically shirtless.

He made a guest appearance with the band Sheer Greed on the song "Eveybody Wants" on their album Sublime To The Ridiculous.
