St. Patrick's and St. Brigids College is located in Claudy, just outside of Derry. The Current principal is Mr. Jack McCauley and the school hosts a number of teachers numbering around 30. There are around 500-600 pupils and currently have only 5 year groups but will soon be developing into an 11-18 school. [1]

The school has experienced a huge chain on sucesses recently with new building being added and many academic achievements. The most recent achievements are the head boy, Christopher Kirk, achieving 10A*s in his GCSEs in june 2005 and the school achieving a 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Northern Ireland in June 2004. The places were achieved in Applied ICT with 1st being awarded to Mark Loughery, 2nd being awarded to Marie Sharkey and 3rd Nichola Kerlin. These three people were a few among those who did extremely well in their GCSEs with Marie Sharkey topping the year. These huge successes have been shown all over the papers and won Mr. Jack McCauley much respect.

The school has been growing increasingly with many children from Derry trying to get in. it has come to the point that the school needs to start rejecting pupils as they are just too many applying. The school is obviously rising through the ranks.

The school's mission statement is "St. Patrick's and St. Brigid's College, in promoting a culture of quality Catholic Education, will strive to achieve the best for each pupil in all areas of school life, thereby making a distinctive and positive contribution to their lives and to the communities in which they live."
