Morgan Pressel
Morgan Pressel (born May 23 1988 in Tampa, Florida) is an American professional golfer from Boca Raton, Florida.
In 2005, Pressel won the U.S. Women's Amateur championship. Pressel also finished her amateur career as 2005 Girls American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Junior Player of the Year. During her amateur career, she won 11 AJGA titles, including all five AJGA Invitationals : the "AJGA Slam". [1]
In 2001 as a 13 year old, she became the youngest qualifier in the U.S. Women's Open. In 2005, at the age of 17, she was one of three co-leaders going into the final round of the U.S. Women's Open, and finished in a tie for second place. Pressel was tied for first on the 18th fairway when Birdie Kim chipped in from the bunker on 18 to give her a one stroke lead. Pressel finished in 2nd after making bogey on the 18th.
Pressel attended Banyan Creek Elementary School and Omni Middle School. She is currently a senior at Saint Andrew's School in Boca Raton. The niece of former Top 10 tennis player Aaron Krickstein, Pressel was featured in an August 2005 issue of Sports Illustrated Magazine.
