Josip Murn

Josip Murn who used the added pseudonym Aleksandrov (4 March 187918 June1901) was a Slovenian poet. His work drew on both the popular poetic tradition of his native country and the practices of early European modernism. He was born in Ljubljana in 1879. In 1898 he went to Vienna to study Law. That same year saw the first publication of his work in Na razstanku. He died in Ljubljana at the age of 22 from tuberculosis.
