Tachlovice

Tachlovice village situated south west of Prague (the capital of the Czech Republic), in the district Prague-west (okres Praha-západ) and Central Bohemia Region (Středočeský kraj), extends to 636 hectares of land with currently 560 inhabitants in 204 houses. It is located on the south slope leading to Radotínský creek, part of the housing lies also on the right side from the creek. Tachlovice is member of the association of villages Jihozápad Region. Village is the entry gate to the Karlštejnsko Region and in the near vicinity, there is a spectacular quarry Velká Amerika to many Czechs resembling Grand Canyon.

Places of Historical Interest

  • Baroque church of St. Jakub Větší from 1742
  • Memorable tree in the near vicinity- White Willow (Salix alba), on the the largest of its kind in Bohemia (historical land of the Czech Republic)with the shaft circuit of 665 cm.

Village Development

  • The village has got all utilities now (electricity, gas, sewerage, telecom)
  • In 2006 the village is planning the construction of several new houses and the sports center.
