Journey South
Journey South is a two man band from Middlesbrough made up of musician/singers Carl and Andy Pemberton, who played pubs and clubs in Britian for over eight years before achieving third place in The X Factor 2005. They have a large fan following who hope that they will secure a record contract with a large British label in the near future. They have proclaimed one of their influences to be Mary J. Blige.
The X-Factor 2005
After passing the audition, the duo went on to the boot camp in the Groups category, mentored in the 2005 series by Simon Cowell. Cowell put them through to his final 7 and then to his final 4 who competed in the live finals against the final four contestants in Sharon Osborne's 25 & Over category and Louis Walsh's 16-24 category. They regularly made it through each round with flying colours, but in the grand final came third to fellow acts Andy Abraham and Shayne Ward, who won the competition.
