Jamal Al-Gashey
Appearance
The last-known surviving hostage-taker from the 1972 Munich Olympics, Jamal Al-Gashey wore a striped jacket in videos, and was shot in the wrist during the altercation.
In 1999 he emerged from his believed hiding in Africa, to appear in the film One Day In September, during which he was disguised and his face shown only in blurry shadow. It was the first time since 1972 that any of the participants in the Munich massacre spoke publicly about it.
Jamal's cousin Adnan was later determined to be the hostage-taker who shot and killed five of the hostages[1]
