Ashburn, one of the 77 official community areas, is located on the southwest side of Chicago, Illinois, USA. Greater Ashburn covers roughly three square miles. The square mile to the west is known as Scottsdale or St. Bede Parish. The center square mile is known as Ashburn or St. Denis Parish, and the eastern most square mile is known as Wrightwood,St. Thomas More Parish, or more affectionately as "Tommy More". The population of Greater-Ashburn was predominately Irish-Catholic until the late 1990's when the area began to diversify. Wrightwood to the east became integrated by the late 1990's, while Ashburn followed a little later. Scottsdale to the west is predominately white with a admixture of Mexican-Americans, Arab-Americans, and African-Americans.

Notable residents include: Ed Farmer and Thomas M. Tunney.

The effect of the changing demographics can be linked to the recent closings of St. Thomas More Elementary School in Wrightwood and St. Denis School in Ashburn due to declining enrollment.
