David Kopay

David Kopay, American football player, who was one of the first professional athletes to out himself as being gay. Attended Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks CA. 

Entered University of Washington in 1961. Became All-American running back in his Senior Year. Drafted by Professional team S.F 49ers. After he retired he was considered a top contender for coaching, but was snubbed by professional and college teams due to his "life style." He eventually took over the family business selling and installing floor coverings in the San Fernando Valley, north of Los Angeles.
