Re: Edit count tool
Nope, not yet. That's on my list of things to add next — see User:Flcelloguy/Tool, where I've added my future developments. However, it might take some time to do because of my limited time and the rather-more complex way of sorting namespace contributions. It'll be done, though. Feel free to leave feedback there. Thanks! Sources for Pileni language
Hello, good work on Pileni language, and thanks for the contribution. However, you did not provide any references or sources in the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. From what websites, books, or other places did you learn the information that you added to Pileni language? Would it be possible for you to mention them in the article? You can simply add links, or see WP:CITET if you wish to review some of the different citation methods. Thanks! Lupin|talk|popups 03:37, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

Jewish history stub
Hi Tomer: Please see, and cast your vote at [1] concerning Category:Jewish history-related stubs. Thanks. IZAK 10:09, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
- Hi Tomer - you seem to be confused about what is happening at SFD. No-one is talking about getting rid of the template and category, simply renaming them to be in line with the stub naming conventions. All that means is that {{JewHist-stub}} and Category:Jewish history-related stubs would become {{Jewish-hist-stub}} and Category:Jewish history stubs. It would be a bit silly having this category as "xxx-related stubs" when all the others are "xxx stubs" (which they will be within a week), or having "JewHist-stub" when all other history stub subcategory templates are of the form xxx-hist-stub. I'd ask you to please reconsider your vote. Grutness...wha? 11:23, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

Although my RfA is not over yet, I figured that since so many people (ahem) voted before it had been posted, I may as well start thanking people before it wraps up. Thanks for your support, and for the strength of it. No need to apologize for not nominating me sooner - I wouldn't have accepted any earlier (and barely accepted this one, early as it was in my book). I'll do my best as an admin to make the reality rise to the level of the dream. BDAbramson T 04:38, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

If you want your colors, I won't fight you on them. :p You actually editted at the same time as me. I finished editting and it told me I had edit conflicts. I actually don't care too much one way or the other. The original colors hurt, but yours are fine. I chose the colors I used just so it was more consistent with the general color scheme, but I'm not especially concerned about the colors, so long as they aren't painful. TShilo12, I have just added a new section to Judaism and Christianity on "love." It is just a stub of a section. When you have time, would you go over it and add whatever additional material, detail, nuance, explanation on the Jewish conception/its meaning and importance for Judaism you think necessary? Slrubenstein | Talk 00:31, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
First, thanks. Second, of course you are right. I would oppose anyone deleting the Bloomian material, which I think is valid. I hope the lack of imbalance will be fixed by people adding to it, from other sources, and other points of view. And if you have more ideas about that, well, I encourage you to add. Quote added by Ian Pitchford
A user has repeatedly added this quote: [2]
Following the the war (and most notably during and after the trial of Adolf Eichmann) the mufti's role and the extent of his influence with the Nazis were inflated in what historian Idith Zertal describes as "a landmark in the process of the organized, explicit mobilization of the Holocaust in the service of Israeli politics and state policy, especially in the context of the Arab-Israeli conflict". Zertal continues: "The transference of the Holocaust situation on to the Middle East reality, which harsh and hostile to Israel as it was, was of a totally different kind, not only created a false sense of the imminent danger of mass destruction. It also immensely distorted the image of the Holocaust, dwarfing the magnitude of the atrocities committed by the Nazis, trivializing the unique agony of the victims and the survivors, and utterly demonizing the Arabs and their leaders."
- I pointed out to him that this is predicated on three unverified premises:
- a) The Mufti's Nazi-ties were exaggerated after the war.
- b) This was done by Jews/Zionists to further their malign aims, by gaining sympathy.
- c) There is a campaign to "explicitly mobilize the Holocaust in the service of Israeli politics and state policy."
- I put it to him that before he can add such a POV quote to the article he must provide the writers answers to how, where and when this was done and not just the why (to gain sympathy by abusing the memory of the holocaust). jucifer 00:13, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

A gift of Hebrew work.
In honor of your good deeds on this project, I am awarding you the duty of keeping Hebrew disambiguated. It is completely clean at the moment (except for some user/talk/project page links, and some intentional links. Your job is to check here every few days and fix any new links that are made to this disambiguation page (it usually picks up 3-4 a day, and every once in a while one of those is a nonsense article to be speedied or AfD'd). Sebastian Kessel Talk 02:11, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
- Hey, I'm cool with waiting a few days, but I have a feeling that few people care. As far as I've seen here in the US, little people know what or where the "Rio de la Plata" is, but in the few pages I've seen it mentioned (ie: FIFA.com) it is in its spanish version. OTOH, it is gramatically wrong, as you say, but "Sierra del Plata" is the common name for the place. I have no clue as to why, but in Argentina that form is used several times (like in the city of Mar del Plata). I strikes me as an archaic form of expressing it, somewhat like the legend of Eldorado which should be "El Dorado".
PS: Good job with the survey, it's always a good rule of thumb, even if it's NOR. :) Sebastian Kessel Talk 16:10, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

Proposals for Australian states
I know articles should ideally be sourced, but it gets kind of annoying when you continually accuse proposals for new Australian states of being original research. I don't think I've ever edited the article, and I certainly didn't write it, but none of those were new to me. I understand that you're unlikely to have heard of them yourself in Wisconsin, but all of the incidences on that page should be no surprised to educated Australians (one reason, I suspect, why no one has bothered to reference it until now). New Australian States
Hi Tomer - not quite sure why you thought I'd know anything about this article, but I've had a look at it. The only think I note about it is the weird idea that anyone would suggest New Zealand should become part of Australia. Historically, that may have been true before about 1910, but I'd be amazed if you'd find anyone suggesting it now. Grutness...wha? 23:00, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- Oh, one thing I forgot to add - as the comment a couple of paragraphs up also says, this isn't original research, even if the external links aren't brilliant. Another web project I'm involved with (Flags of the World) also had some information recently about it. How seriously the proposal's being taken, i don't know, but it seems to have made some ripples in Aus. Grutness...wha? 10:03, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
Fijian and Rotuman
Thanks for correcting that error that Rotuman is related to Polynesian languages more distantly than Fijian. I think I intended to write "distinctly", made a typo of it, which my spelling corrector must have miscorrected to "distantly." Thanks for keeping a watchful eye on it! David Cannon 09:17, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
- The situation is somewhat analogous to the relationship between English and its fellow-Germanic languages on the one hand, and Romance languages on the other. English is not a Romance language, but extensive borrowings from French and Latin have left their mark on English vocabulary, to the extent that English/American students of Romance languages find 40-50 percent of the vocabulary recognizable. From what I've heard, Fiji underwent numerous invasions from Tonga. The conquest by Enele Ma'afu of much of eastern Fiji in the 18th Century was just the latest of many such invasions. Tongan (i.e. Polynesian) vocabulary, and to some extent grammatical patterns, have left their mark on the Fijian language as a whole, and in a very pronounced way on some Eastern dialects. (I'm just going by what I've heard - I don't have a source for it). I agree that the issue needs further study. David Cannon 09:45, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
