Newtonville is a suburban community or a town located east about 80 km E of Toronto, about 30 km E of Oshawa and about 10 km west of Port Hope on the old highway linking Toronto and Kingston and about 1 km north of the nearest freeway (Highway 401) serving two interchanges and is located between the two highways or main roads of the superhighway to Lindsay and Peterborough and the old Port Hope - Peterborough highway (Highway 28). Newtonvilleis in the southeastern part of Clarington and was in the western part of the old Clarke Township until 1993. The two railway lines lie to the south and serves no station. A golf course is situated abour 5 km west of Newtonville.

Newtonville has forests and mostly are made up of small escarpments and bluffs lining with Lake Ontario to the south and plentiful with hills and are filled with pine and other types of trees and creeks and streams. The largest chunk of forests in capacity are in the northeasternpart, the western part and within the superhighway. Farmlands also align with the lake. Farmlands cover about half of the land, the remainder are made up of forests that are located mainly on hilltops and the valley areas. Newtonville is also about 70 km S of Lindsay and Peterborough. The area code boundary with 705 is bounded to the east between Newtonville and Port Hope.
