Arthurdent is a small main belt asteroid. It was discovered by Felix Hormuth in 1998. It is named after Arthur Dent, the bewildered hero of Douglas Adams' The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. In a sad coincidence, the name was officially announced on May 10, 2001, the day before Adams died of a heart attack.
