Hello Alan, welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. You can learn more on the how to edit page. The naming conventions and manual of style pages are also useful. Feel free to experiment at the Wikipedia:Sandbox. If you have any questions about the project then check out Wikipedia:Help or add a question to the Village pump. Angela

Ancient American cultures

Hi Alan. I noticed your queries on Talk:Ancient American cultures, and have attempted some responses which you will find there. Hope that helps.
(incidentally, you might like to consider disguising, spoofing or removing altogether your email addr on your User page- Spam-bots can scan and pick it up & before too long you'll be fending off a bunch of spurious emails. If you've put your email addr in your Preferences and checked "Enable email from other users", then others can contact you via email by using the "e-mail this user" option (normally appears in the toolbox to the left), without having to divulge what your email address actually is. However, the most frequent means of communication is via Talk pages.)
Happy editing, and regards--cjllw | TALK 01:11, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that, cjllw. AWhiteC 23:20, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Seaton Delaval Hall

Pleas go aright ahead (ASAP) and replace the existing images - anything would be better than those, they were the best I could find in the public domain. When you have done so, I will put the most suitable in John Vanbrugh which too is suffering from lack of a decent picture. Thanks - Great news! Giano | talk 12:40, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message. Great fotos. I have upoaded one to John Vanbrugh too. Regards Giano | talk 14:39, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your VandalProof Application

Dear AWhiteC,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.2 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that for security reasons, VandalProof's creator requires it's users to have made 250 edits to articles, which you have not. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof.

Ralph Henry Carless Davis

Hi. I'm following standard encyclopedia conventions. The first occurrence of a name in a biographical entry is only prefaced by honorific titles like 'Sir', 'Saint' or 'Reverend'. 'Professor' is not one of these titles. Sir Paul 01:40, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

Hello. You left comments on my talk page saying "why have you signed Johnathen Israel to the above".

  1. Who is Johnathen Israel?
  2. What have I assigned him to?

I would appreciate it if you could answer these. Thanks! Tellyaddict 16:52, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not speak in that format, if you had read the messages left above by me I asked you to tell me what you were talkimng about, I had to figure it out for myself, please do not ask me in such a tone as if I was ignoring your messages on my talk page, if you look at the article you will see a category at the bottom about people who have been to/passed from Newcastle Upon Tyne University, therefore it falls within the scope of WikiProject North East England. Kind regards - Tellyaddict 09:26, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

South Africa

The vandalism to South Africa has been fixed. What other articles were you referring to? KnightLago (talk) 18:42, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I understand what you were saying. It was a case of template vandalism. KnightLago (talk) 18:45, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello AWhiteC! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 180 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Oliver Shepard - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
