New design
I had brought up a new design in December. I'm thinking about implementing it for the new year. Are there any problems with the design?
- I kind of prefer the old (current) version, but I say go for the change and see how it works! Flcelloguy (A note?) 20:03, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- I'm with Flcelloguy. I like the old version; simple is better. Isomorphic 05:18, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
- Well, I suppose I'll stay with that one, then. My only problem is that the simple version is very limited in what I can do with it link-wise, etc. Ral315 (talk) 13:07, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
- I like the current design actually, but I don't object to a little experimentation.Kaldari 02:49, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- I like the fact the current Signpost intro page fits on one screen. What do you mean when you say "link-wise"? What can you do with another format? =- Mgm|(talk) 11:00, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

I got called into work, and there's no way for me to get out of it. Anything that you can do article-wise is much appreciated. I'll publish when I get home, but if someone could start News and Notes (I take the milestones from m:Wikimedia News), or do B.R.I.O.N. (links to server admin log and the wikitech livejournal are in the Suggestions area of the newsroom), it would be much appreciated. I'll take the 2005 retrospective for next week's issue, and I'll do T.R.O.L.L. when I get home. I apologize sincerely. Ral315 (talk) 22:34, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
- I've started news and notes here. Any help would be appreciated. Flcelloguy (A note?) 23:22, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
- Not sure how to do B.R.I.O.N.; I'll go ahead and do T.R.O.L.L. Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:53, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- TROLL finished at User:Flcelloguy/Signpost/TROLL. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 01:09, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- ArbCom elections stuff (seems like we're actually going to get started and Jimbo has tacitly approved), and Steward updates (if there are any that deserve mentioning - if not, maybe just a notice that the elections are continuing in news and notes?) Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 02:15, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think just a note in News and notes would probably be sufficient. If you write it, I'll merge it with News and notes; otherwise, I'll write it myself. Ral315 (talk) 13:06, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
- I was thinking of just a short sentence: "The steward elections continues this week. The vote runs until January 10." Flcelloguy (A note?) 22:50, 1 January 2006 (UTC) (oops, that's actually two, but...)

- ArbCom candidates finished at User:Flcelloguy/Signpost/ArbCom candidates. I've left _NOEDITSECTION_ and _NOTOC_ in comments so it's easier for you to edit. Unfortunately, Kate's Tool is down right now and I'm on my new computer, which doesn't have the Java IDK downloaded yet, so I can't get number of edits. I'm hoping that WP:KT will be back up before publication time; otherwise, we can just include the link to Kate's Tool. (Or if you have Java installed, you can follow the instructions at User:Flcelloguy/Tool to count edits.) Thanks a lot Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:07, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
- Finished adding edit count and dates in. Also, I've left NOEDITSECTION and NOTOC in comments; those should probably be removed before press time. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 21:29, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
- Kate's tool has more or less officially moved to http://tools.wikimedia.de/~interiot/cgi-bin/count_edits, since I wanted to work on it, and he didn't want to worry about maintaining it. --Interiot 00:46, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- User:Flcelloguy/Signpost/ArbCom update 2 finished. Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:39, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
- User:Michael Snow/Reporter plagiarizes Wikipedia
- A follow-up on semi-protection might not be bad, if someone's interested. Ral315 (talk)
- A look back on 2005 in Wikipedia (I could use some suggestions...I'm going to comb through the archives, but anything significant that I can't miss?) Ral315 (talk)
- I'll mention the "Personal Appeal" in News and Notes. Ral315 (talk)
If no one else writes a story on the user box mess, I'll do it. Flcelloguy (A note?) 22:51, 1 January 2006 (UTC)On second thought, not enough time - the other two articles took more time than I expected. Someone should write this, though. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:45, 2 January 2006 (UTC)- I made a brief mention of both this and the controversy over linking of dates in News and Notes. Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:43, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- Feat & Admin done. Also have those guidelines been done yet... for tone, tense and adding/editing articles after being published. Also it would be handy to know at the top of this page what the Deadline time is in UTC and/or EST; firm deadlines can really motivate writers. :"D Thanks. - RoyBoy 800 18:15, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
