Template:UK constituency infobox Newcastle upon Tyne Central is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election.

Boundaries

Confusingly Newcastle-upon-Tyne Central doe not include Newcastle's commercial city centre (which is in the Tyne Bridge constituency). Instead it consists a number of fairly prosperous communities surrounding Newcastle's Town Moor and houses a substantial student population. The seat includes Gosforth, Jesmond, Fenham, Kenton and much of the universities of Newcastle and Northumbria.
