Mosè Egitto is a three part opera written by Gioacchino Rossini and premiered in 1818, on the Exodus from Egypt of the Israelites, led by Moses. The play includes a variation of Niccoló Paganini's 'Dal tuo stellato soglio', one of the most popular opera pieces of the day and a very inspirational piece. The audience was said to rise from their seats to see what produced such beautiful music.
