Cincinnati Kings
The Cincinnati Kings are a minor league soccer team based in Cincinnati, Ohio. They were founded in 2005 and currently play in the USL Second Division.
In their first season the Kings managed a 5th Place finish with 7 wins, 8 losses and 5 draws. The club currently plays at Corcoran Field or the "Kingdom" located on the campus of Xavier University. The Kings colors are red, white and black.
Player stand outs include forward George Kithas leading the club with 6 clubs and defender Derek Smith who played 1794 total minute, more than anyone else, and collected several player of week awards.
The Kings are owned Yacoub Abdallahi who is an entrepreneur from Northern Africa who graduated from Northern Kentucky University where he played soccer. Abdallahi has stated that the club may be losing money, but he feels the area deserves a club it can be proud of.
The Kings General Manager J.T. Roberts was an All-American at Northern Kentucky University and was drafted by the New England Revolution of the MLS and Carolina of the USL.
Jon Pickup is the Head Coach who occasionally plays when needed, Pickup is from England where he played for the U-16 National Team, Wigan Athletic, Chester City and Blackburn Rovers.
