Tychy (pronounce: ['tixi]) is a very young city in south Poland with a population of 132 600. Situated in the Silesian Voivodship (since 1999), previously in Katowice Voivodship (1975-1998). Location

Tychy is located about 20 km south of Katowice in south of the Upper Silesian Industrial Area near the Vistula river. The city borders with Katowice in the north, Mikołów in the west, Bieruń Stary in the east and Kobiór in the south.
