Simone Russell is a fictional character on the NBC soap opera Passions Simone has been on the show since its inception in 1999. She is currently played by Cathy Jenéen Doe since 2004. The character was also played by Lena Cardwell (1999-2001) and Chrystee Pharris-Larkins ((2001-2004). The character is soap opera's first African American lesbian although she was previously seen as straight.
