Micro-enterprise’s have been existence for a long time but usually were confused with small business.
1. A small business started with as little capital as possible. See also micro-business.
2. The more recent definition it has been used to describe a therapeutic tool in the context of self-determination for persons who have a disablity.
Utilized as a occupational therapy tool it has become invaluable to persons who for a myriad of reasons cannot efficiently participate in typically rigid work environments, i.e. 9-5/40 hours a week.
Micro-enterprise gives people whom have a disability flexibly to attend doctor’s appointments and treatments that normally occur in the 9-5 time frame of the day.
Each of us has had an idea to start a Micro-Enterprise.
Although the idea may be as big as Ford or Toyota, most of us lack the capital to start that big and just shelve our idea.
Small businesses are frequently started to big without proper forethought and planning, this accounts for their massive failure rate.
Think small and grow from there. Start with what you have and spend as little as you can until you have customers. This is when learning is critical; learn to keep your customers happy and coming back. These early customers are the most important aspect to your Business growth. Customers have frustrations and you as a business owner have the ability to reduce or eliminate that frustration.
One: Write out a plan. Two pages maximum of how to provide a service or a product that people will pay for.
Two: Sell relief, customers want relief from many things thirst, hunger, boredom and more relief providing solutions are needed every day.
Three: Now get to thinking, solving, doing.
