Geography
Hollywood is located at 26°1'17" North, 80°10'30" West (26.021467, -80.174910)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 79.8 km² (30.8 mi²). 70.8 km² (27.3 mi²) of it is land and 9.0 km² (3.5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 11.23% water.
Hollywood is located in the southeast of Broward County, and includes about 5-6 miles of Atlantic Ocean beach, interrupted briefly by a portion deeded to Dania Beach. Hollywood is bounded by the following municipalities:

Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 139,357 people, 59,673 households, and 34,490 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,968.0/km² (5,097.2/mi²). There are 68,426 housing units at an average density of 966.3/km² (2,502.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 78.35% White, 12.09% African American or Black, 0.27% Native American, 1.98% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 3.95% from other races, and 3.27% from two or more races. 22.53% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 59,673 households out of which 24.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.5% are married couples living together, 11.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 42.2% are non-families. 34.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.31 and the average family size is 3.00.
In the city the population is spread out with 21.3% under the age of 18, 7.0% from 18 to 24, 31.3% from 25 to 44, 23.1% from 45 to 64, and 17.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 94.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 90.9 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $36,714, and the median income for a family is $44,849. Males have a median income of $33,102 versus $27,237 for females. The per capita income for the city is $22,097. 13.2% of the population and 9.9% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 18.1% of those under the age of 18 and 11.8% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
English is the main language, but Spanish is commonly spoken. Hollywood also has America's largest French speaking community, thanks to the French Canadian snowbirds who flock to the city during the winter months. About 300,000 French Canadians migrate to the Greater Fort Lauderdale area every winter, Hollywood being the destination for the majority of them . There is also a large Ukrainian population.
North of Hollywood is the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, portions of which are cointained within the cities of Fort Lauderdale, Dania Beach and Hollywood as well as unincorporated Broward County.
