Regarding your comment on GTAVC, I've left a reply on the talk page. Cheers! LordViD 01:26, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Image:Oreilly 215.GIF"

Hi. It looks like you uploaded the same image twice, as Image:Oreilly 215.GIF and as Image:Oreilly 215.gif. The software we use is sensitive to case, so the difference between "GIF" and "gif" in the image names matters. I've deleted Image:Oreilly 215.GIF because we don't need duplicates, and it wasn't used anywhere. Image:Oreilly 215.gif, which is used in two articles, is still there. By the way, this "Temp Storage" business at the bottom of the page may turn out to be awkward. A lot of people add comments to user's talk pages by using the "+" tab at the top of the screen. This automatically creates a new section at the bottom of the page, below the "Temp Storage." You might do better to put your "stored" text at the top of the page, in your user page, or in a subpage. Subpages are easy to create. There are a number of ways to do it, and all of them are pretty similar. Directions for one way are at Wikipedia:Subpages#How_to_create_User_subpages. FreplySpang (talk) 03:52, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, you uploaded the same picture of Toni Pearen to both Image:Pearon, Toni.jpg and Image:Pearon, Pearon, Toni.jpg. I've deleted the unused one, Image:Pearon, Toni.jpg. FreplySpang (talk) 05:23, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

deleting a message

You left a note on my talk page that started with "Message deleted because I wasent in my opinion being absuive". Are you referring to the messages that you deleted from your talk page? Maybe you meant to talk to Mindspillage, who left you a couple of messages about you and Gmaxwell: [1], [2]. That wasn't me. I haven't said anything (yet) about you and Gmaxwell. Now I will: you two have rubbed each other the wrong way, but he isn't trying to be hostile to you. He is very concerned with making sure that Wikipedia's copyright policies are followed, which is very important for us to avoid lawsuits.

Remember, there was some confusion about the pictures you uploaded: the Toni Pearen one and the Bill O'Reilly one. There were two copies of each. His bot correctly tagged the duplicate images that weren't being used. Then, he tried to explain why the Richmond FC logo you uploaded was tagged for deletion. He tried to explain the difference between encyclopedia articles and WikiProjects. His bot really was operating properly when it tagged the Richmond FC logo. It's an issue of copyrights and fair use. (There are more details of our policy at Wikipedia:Copyright FAQ.) A simple misunderstanding between you and Gmaxwell got blown out of proportion.

Finally, deleting comments from your user page that you don't like is not really good Wikipedia practice. For one thing, it looks like you're trying to hide something. For another, it doesn't work very well, because everything is available in the edit history anyway. FreplySpang (talk) 18:55, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
