Knowledge Adventure, Inc. is a maker of educational software that is most well-known for its JumpStart series of grade-based and subject-based titles. Knowledge Adventure was owned by Vivendi Universal, which could not find the ability to cultivate its well known brands, such as Math Blaster and JumpStart, due to its focus on more traditional gaming. In late 2004, it was sold to a group of investers who believed in not only in the market, but also the development team and its brands, and the company has since released new products under both brands.
