Katie Liu Leung (Chinese: 梁佩詩, born 8 August 1987 in Scotland) is a Scottish actress of Chinese descent who is playing the character of Cho Chang, Harry Potter's love interest, in the movie version of the J. K. Rowling novel, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, released in theaters November 18, 2005. Leung lives in Motherwell, a town near Glasgow. Her parents are separated and she currently resides with her father Peter Leung (a native from Hong Kong), two brothers (one is called Jonathon) and a younger sister. She was selected for the role of Cho Chang after beating out 3972 other girls in an open call audition in London for girls of East Asian appearance. She claimed in an interview with the Daily Record that her Scottish accent gave her an edge in the casting room by making her stand out.
