David Williams is a former American football player. Williams was unamiously named All-American twice at the University of Illinois, and is an inducted member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

Williams played at Illinois from 1983 to 1985. Under the prolific passing offense of coach Mike White, Williams set many NCAA and Illinois receiving records, and was unanimously named First-Team All-American twice. In 1984, Williams became the second player in NCAA history to have 100 or more receptions in a season, finishing the season with 101. Williams was twice named First-Team All-Big Ten, and played for the 1983 Big Ten champion Fighting Illini. Williams finished his collegiate career as the second leading receiver in NCAA history.

Drafted in the 1985 NFL Draft, Williams would play two seasons in the NFL, but would never be able to duplicate his collegiate success at the professional level. Williams played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1986 and the Los Angeles Raiders in 1987, and would finish his professional career with 10 catches for 195 yards.
