This debate seems to be getting a litte bit nasty.

I happened across this term and I feel I must contribute to the debate. I must admit that term isn't too commonplace outside of Ontario, but it is certainly in use in the mid-western portion of the Province.

I am a member of the Waterloo Region Model Railway Club and have been a life-long train enthusiast. The term 'dinga'was synonymous was 'wig-wag' in the early part of the 20th century. However, as 'wig-wags'were gradually replaced by modern day level-crossing aparati, the term 'dinga-dinga'or 'dinga'as it's more commonly known was used.

Outside of the Southern Ontario Region I don't believe I've heard this term used as they prefer 'wig-wag'or 'signal'.

Thanks
