The Matix Group Matix Group has been established by the Kanodia family of the Datamatics Group. The Datamatics Group, established in 1975 and currently employing over 5000 people, is a multi–business information technology organization which has pioneered innovative concepts and solutions in the IT sector. The Matix Group is looking to diversify into high-growth sectors including manufacturing, services and infrastructure.
Matix Fertilisers & Chemicals Limited
Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd. is the flagship project of the Matix Group. As part of the project, Matix Group is building and will operate a greenfield fertilizer complex with a capacity of 3 MTPA in Panagarh, West Bengal.[1]
In Phase 1, Matix Group is investing Rs. 5,000 crores (approximately US$ 1.1 billion) to set up a world-class single stream 2,200 metric tonnes per day (MTPD) Ammonia plant and 3,850 MTPD Urea plant along with associated offsite and utilities.
The fertiliser complex, located in Panagarh Industrial Park near Durgapur, adjacent to Highway NH2 and the Eastern Railway Network is easily accessible by road, rail and air. The complex will house a 33 MW captive power plant, dedicated water reservoir, steam generation and other utilities. The efficient distribution and infrastructure also includes road network and a railway siding. Waste water recycling facilities and the green belt will be located within the complex. The plant will be entirely health, safety and environment compliant.
The project is due to be completed and the plant operational by first half of 2012.
People
The Matix Group is spearheaded by Yogendra Kanodia and Nishant Kanodia. The management team is led by Mr. Prithviraj Dhariwal, technical team led by Mr. Chaman Gupta and the advisory team is led by Mr. P N Devarajan and Mr. D K Verma.
Partners
The plant will use energy efficient and the latest technology from industry leaders Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) [2], USA (Saipem), Italy, and PDIL for production of Ammonia and Urea, and detailed engineering respectively.
