Straw Hat Pirates
The Straw Hat Pirates are the main focus and heroes of the anime and manga One Piece, called "Straw Hats" after Luffy's signature straw hat that was given to him by Shanks. Up untill the Water 7 arc, they sailed on the Going Merry, however they are currently without a ship. The crew consists of seven members thus far.

- First Mate/Swordsman: Roronoa Zoro (Zolo in the English 4Kids version)
- Navigator: Nami
- Marksman: Usopp
- Chef: Sanji
- Doctor: Tony Tony Chopper
- Archeologist: Nico Robin
Currently the Straw Hats intend to find a shipwright to join the crew, and there is much speculation among fans as to who will be the eigth member. Many think that Franky will be, although some feel that Paulie will be the one to join.
Temporary Straw Hats
Through the series there have been people who have traveled with the Straw Hat Pirates for a short period of time. The most notable of these is Vivi, as she traveled with them for almost the entire Baroque Works Saga, and considered permanatly joining them.
