Telford United F.C.
Telford United F.C. are an English football team currently who contested the 2003/04 season in the Nationwide Conference. They were known as Wellington Town F.C. until 1969.
More recently Telford have found themselves facing a financial crisis and on 27th May 2004 Telford went into liquidation after efforts to bring in new investment failed. Fans have vowed to reform the club but the level, if any, at which they will play during the 2004/05 season remains unknown.
On the 28th May 2004 AFC Telford was launched by the Telford United Supporters Trust. Dialogue between relevant parties is ongoing, and a decision regarding the level at which they will enter the football pyramid is expected by early June 2004. Most likely they will be in a league feeding into the Northern Premier League, or possibly the NPL's lower division.
