Qin Shi Huang

Qin Shi Huang Di, or King Zheng of Qin unified China and proclaimed himself the First (Shi) Emperor (Huang Di) of Qin, as he was the first Chinese sovereign able to rule the whole country.

"Huang" and "Di" were titles once reserved for the eight legendary kings (three "Huang"'s and five "Di"'s), so the term "Huang Di" indicated that he was even greater than the eight legendary kings.
