Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone (born March 10, 1958), American actress, model, producer who is arguably most famous for her role in the movie Basic Instinct.

She was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

She made her film debut in Woody Allen's Stardust Memories (1980) as "Pretty Girl on train", but a speaking part only came a year later in the horror movie Deadly Blessing (1981).

In the 1980s she played many parts in B-movies like the two action-adventure films King Solomon's Mines (1985) and Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold (1987). However, Sharon Stone was meant to be the dominating lady of 1990s. But to achieve that she had to be bold.

She almost received her big break with Total Recall (1990) against Arnold Schwarzenegger. Then she posed nude for Playboy, which is considered a brave thing to do at the age of 32 and she also accepted a provoking role in Basic Instinct (1992). With the film becoming a sort of popular cult movie, she became the star of the decade overnight.

In 1996 she received an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination for her role as Ginger in Martin Scorsese's Casino (1995).
