Indiana State Road 9

Indiana State Highway 9 is a long north-south highway in eastern Indiana between its southern terminus near Columbus, Indiana on U.S. Highway 31 to the Michigan/Indiana state line between Howe, Indiana and Sturgis, Michigan at which it becomes Michigan State Highway 66.

It passes through the following towns and cities, from south to north:

• Shelbyville, Indiana (junction Interstate 74)
• Greenfield, Indiana (junction Interstate 70
• Anderson, Indiana (junction Interstate 69)
• Alexandria, Indiana
• Marion, Indiana
• Huntington, Indiana (home of former Vice President of the United States, Dan Quayle)
• Columbia City, Indiana
• Albion, Indiana
• Rome City, Indiana -- Gene Stratton Porter State Historical Site
• Lagrange, Indiana
• Howe, Indiana, junction Indiana Toll Road

Some of Indiana 9 is divided highway and even freeway, but Intersate 69 largely supplants it as all but a regional route between Huntington and Anderson.
