This is true, but these artists are still very important to the ambient genre. Few artists record ambient exclusively. Listing them here does not imply that they are exclusively or even primarily ambient artists, but rather that they are significant to the formation of the genre. influential?

I think we need to either remove the word influential from the list description here, or remove some of the artists. Anyone agree? I don't claim to be an ambient expert but a large number of these artists seem to be incredibly obscure. --Chopchopwhitey 00:35, 29 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
