Sean Morley, better known as Val Venis or The Big Valbowski (born on March 6, 1971 in Oakville, Ontario) is a Canadian professional wrestler currently performing for World Wrestling Entertainment on the RAW brand.
Career
World Wrestling Federation / Entertainment
He debuted in the then-WWF as a face to start with in 1998 and has enjoyed moderate success since then. He is also a self described libertarian, and the former brother-in-law of fellow WWE superstar Edge.
Val Venis, Morley's wrestling persona, was created out of political conservative Sean Morley's sense of humor. He was presented on screen as a well-endowed porn star, becoming the focus of an outrageous angle which involved him having an affair with Mrs. Yamaguchi-San and nearly being castrated by Japanese stable Kaientai (Taka Michinoku, Funaki, Dick Togo, Men's Teioh, and Wally Yamaguchi) in the summer of 1998. The next week, Venis reported that he was saved by "a little shrinkage" and help from his friend, John Wayne Bobbitt, who he introduced. He also stole away Goldust's valet Terri Runnels after Goldust became Dustin Runnels. After the feud Morley formed an alliance with The Godfather.
In 1999, Morley had more female troubles. He had a feud with then-Intercontinental Champion Ken Shamrock that started when he made a film starring himself and Shamrock's sister Ryan called "Shaving Ryan's Privates". During the feud he won the title at St. Valentine's Day Massacre with the help of Special Guest Referee Billy Gunn. A few days later he dumped Ryan and eventually lost the Intercontinental title to Road Dogg. Throughout the rest of the year he had female troubles with Nicole Bass, Chyna and Debra. He also had short feuds with Mankind, The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. In December Morley defeated Davey Boy Smith and D'Lo Brown to win the European Championship in a Triple Threat Match.
During the beginning of 2000, Morley lost the European Championship to Kurt Angle. A few months later, Morley turned heel by aligning himself with Trish Stratus. With Stratus as his manager he defeated Rikishi to win the Intercontinental Championship for a second time and he was aligned with Test and Albert. After losing the Intercontinental Championship to Chyna in a mixed tag match he fired Trish (Chyna pinned Trish to win the title as Morley was distracted with Chyna's partner Eddie Guerrero). Shortly after this, he became a member of the Right to Censor stable when he was abducted after a match with Bull Buchanan and The Goodfather (his former partner "The Godfather"). He became a censorship-based character, directly contrasting with his previously provocative on-screen character. He feuded with Chyna and "The One" Billy Gunn during his time in the Right To Censor and stayed with them till they disbanded right before the Invasion storyline. After they disbanded Morley disappeared from the WWE.
At the 2002 Royal Rumble, Morley was one of four "Royal Rumble Returns", along with The Godfather, Mr. Perfect and Goldust. After two very short feuds with Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mr. Perfect. he wrestled on RAW until he was drafted by SmackDown! during the brand extension. On SmackDown! he aligned himself with the likes of Edge and Randy Orton and feuded with Chris Jericho, Deacon Batista, Ron Simmons and Reverend D-Von. Towards the end of the year he began to call himself the Big Valbowski and started a tag team with Chuck Palumbo. He then was sidelined with an injury after gym equipment fell on him at a gym in Australia. After recuperating, Morley went to RAW.
Upon being drafted back to RAW, Morley was appointed "Chief of Staff" by RAW's General Manager, Eric Bischoff, turning heel once again whilst acting as Bischoff's assistant. He also became one half of the World Tag Team Champions with Lance Storm after Storm's partner William Regal was sidelined with an illness. However, shortly into his tenure, Bischoff "fired" Chief Morley on-screen, only for him to be quickly re-hired by RAW's then co-G.M., Stone Cold Steve Austin. This caused him to turn face for the third time by siding with the fans, even going so far as to change his name back to Val Venis, but after this, Val would not get much of a push. He was utilized mainly as a jobber to the stars, and kept in the undercard. Morley was also one of the masked men in the infamous "terrorist angle" involving Muhammad Hassan and The Undertaker.
Morley would go on to team up with the "the 500 pound love machine", Viscera as V-Squared back on RAW. While wrestling on HEAT, they squashed a number of other tag teams. A few weeks later, they defeated World Tag Team Champions Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch via disqualification on the brand's top show, RAW. Two weeks later, the team once again beat the champions by pinfall on HEAT. On RAW, V-Squared would once again get a shot at the titles in a fatal-four way along with The Heart Throbs and the team of Gene Snitsky and Tyson Tomko, only to be squashed by champions Kane and The Big Show.
In January 2006, both Val Venis and Viscera would be involved in seperate comedy bits with Shelton Benjamin's storyline Momma. After recognizing Venis' face, Momma asked who he was. After saying that he was in several porn films, including "Shaving Ryan's Privates", "Glad He Ate Her" and "Harry Twatter," Shelton's momma told him that he was "going to hell tonight." A match then took place between Shelton and Val, which Shelton won with interference from Momma.
Venis hosted a poll on WWE.com called the "Love Stinks Poll" where people got the chance to vote for the best love moment in WWE history, on February 14th a video was released on WWE.com called "The Val Venis Love Stinks St. Valentines Day Sucktacular," which featured the resutls from that poll.
On February 10th Val Venis & his partner Viscera wrestled in an elimination three-way tag match on HEAT along with the tag teams of The Heart Throbs, and Tyson Tomko & Gene Snitsky, with the winners of the match earning at a shot at the World Tag Team Championships. V-Squared would win this match with Viscera pinning Gene Snitsky for the final fall. However, V-Squared would fall short of the titles, losing the match to Big Show and Kane on the February 27 edition of RAW.
