Digital Spy is a British media and entertainment website, noted for its extensive Big Brother coverage and forums with over 138,000 members. Its' forums currently has over 7.4 million posts. The website's latest design was launched on March 1st, 2006. The site was established in 2000 when the operations of the digiNEWS network were merged and Digital Spy Ltd was formally incorporated in 2001.

The site also features forums including covering those topics listed above, telephony, gaming, international media, politics and general discussion. The forums went live in March 2000 and are one of the largest media-based discussion centres on the internet.

The site features two regular columns, both usually updated on Saturdays:

Tube Talk: Information on upcoming UK TV schedules, programme acquiration announcements and US TV spoilers. Written by DS editor Neil Wilkes.

Dek's TV Diary: A review of the past week's television. Written by Dek Hogan.

Podcast: Digital Spy plan to launch a podcasting service in March 2006. This will be a weekly show about entertainment and media news, with full analysis of the news & discussion.

Running Commentary: The site is also soon to start running commentary at major media events. This is thought to begin with the 2006 Oscars.

Trivia

Digital Spy covers Channel 4's Big Brother through a dedicated spinoff site. The site, called DS:BB is the single biggest, unofficial online destination for BB updates.

Digital Spy's busiest ever day was March 27, 2002 as a result of in-depth, breaking news coverage of the collapse of ITV Digital.

Digital Spy's best ever numbers came on June 27, 2005, as it's coverage of Big Brother peaked with 2.02 million hits.
