The Avalon mall (website) is a busy mall in the historic city of St. John's, Newfoundland. One of the busiest malls in Atlantic Canada, it offers over 140 stores and services, state of the art cinemas, a kids play area, and the largest food court in Atlantic Canada. The mall opened in 1967. It is popularly referred to as "The Mall" in Newfoundland.
A popular tourist destination, the mall contains many stores and services. The mall is attached to Sears (formerly a Wal-mart), Winners, and Empire Studios. It also contains underground and ground parkade accessed from O'Leary Avenue. There is a pedestrian overpass which leads to the mall from the ground parkade on O'Leary Avenue.
The Avalon mall is located on 48 Kenmount Road. It is near the major intersection of Kenmount Road and Prince Philipp Drive.
