Bias

The other day i was watching The O'reilly Factor (shudder) and one comment Bill O'reilly had was that aaron brown is liberally biased. Is there any truth to that, or is o'reilly just being his usual crazy self? Xunflash 18:46, 19 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What do you think? --Benna 05:26, 3 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, no truth.
There isn't any truth to that. Although Brown, as a man, seems to be a moderate who leans Dem. on some issues, his reporting was objective. He was one, if not the most unbiased anchor CNN ha[d]. He is far less biased than O'reilly, but it is like O'reilly to make such a claim.

Aaron Brown Leaving CNN

This is a copy of an e-mail I sent to CNN upon learning of Aaron Brown's departure from CNN. As to Mr. Brown being liberally biased, I feel he is one of the most fair and balanced anchors on Cable News although, if I honestly had to choose a side, I would say he might lean ever so slightly to the left. Here is the e-mail: Today, I read with utter disbelief in the New York Times that Aaron Brown has been let go. In my humble opinion, Aaron Brown is the smartest, classiest, most eloquent, truly fair & balanced anchor man on TV. CNN has made a tragic mistake in that Mr. Brown gave tremendous credibility to the network and he will undoubtedly do the same at which ever network is smart enough to grab him. I have watched CNN for years as well as the Fox network. I truly believe that if Fox were to get Aaron Brown and fire Geraldo, they would have the absolute perfect network. The powers that be may have just given an unprecedented opportunity to your most fearsome competitor. I hope you will get past the immediate ratings, come to your senses, apologize and beg Aaron Brown to come back. I’m sure Walter Cronkite et al had their ups and downs, fortunately for us all; the networks of the day had the good sense and loyalty to ride it out.

I'm officially giving my viewership to MSNBC. I can't stand what CNN has become. Aaron Brown was the only thing keeping me there. They've lost my trust. If I really wanted the hurricane headquarters, I'd move to the Gulf Coast. His loss is a shame. CNN will not recover.

I am heartbroken CNN has chosen to dismiss Aaron Brown. I wait every evening to watch Mr. Brown's eloquent presentation of the news with his unique dab of panache` only he could muster. What a tremendous loss for us all that CNN has elected to display "fluff" reporting as compared to the level of intellectuall & credible balance Mr. Brown represented. Wherever he goes I will follow as CNN has lost the favor of this viewer.

As if MSNBC (or any 24 hour news channel) is any better.

DITTO re: the previous edit

Too bad for CNN...it will become nothing more than a sensationalsit cable network. Aaron Brown has class and insight beyond those he leaves behind.

I AGREE: Too bad for us! It is interesting to note that Cooper Anderson is listed on CNN web site as "entertainment." We have lost an intelligent reporter who had a thoughtful program.

IDOUBLE AGREE. Aaron Brown was their cornerstone. And who the hell enjoys Wolf Blitzer? Unbelievable that CNN has made this choice! His reporting was splendid! As unbiased as Peter Jennings and for God's sake, his grammar is correct! Although I like Lou Dobbs, I'm so tired of hearing "WHO" instead of "whom" can you trust? I thought elementary school took care of those things. At any rate, hopefully Aaron Brown's thoughtful and dependable reporting will soon be available elsewhere and I will surely follow him there.

Sorry, the only reason I watched CNN was Aaron Brown, I miss his inclusiveness, like we are all in it together. Let's hope he goes to Nightline. Sorry Anderson, you got to that spot a little before your time. With a little more "seasoning" you will be great, although you are very funny. I TRIPLE AGREE with all the above.

I'm so thrilled to read how many others enjoyed Aaron Brown's reporting style! (And that others find Wolf Blitzer dull!) CNN made a huge mistake! I've turned it off, too. Cooper's okay but he is no Aarron. CNN & CNN Headline News channel seemed to have changed their target audience. I can't wait for Aaron Brown to be back on TV!

I told Cnn that I was sorry they fired Aaron but that it resulted in me getting an extra hour of sleep every night because I only stayed up to watch Aaron and his program.

We all lost

I have family in Gulfport/Waveland/Houston, and I was glued to CNN Aaron Brown's NewsNight every night. He has a presence about him that is reassuring to me. He always seemed unruffled and a bit amused by it all - as if he knew "it's going to be o.k." hang in there kid. I loved the way he interviewed people in a polite but probing way, doesn't answer it this way, I'll try another way, and another... but I'll be nice about it. We are going to miss him more than we know. I felt he was an old-timer broadcaster that I would and could trust. He was curious, had integrity and the loveliest sardonic wit and slightly raised eye brow as if to say, "roll up your pants legs, cause it's too late to save your boots" He was an incredibly believeable man. I'll miss him sorely. He was my brain candy at night. Don't like Anderson, probably never will. I think with Kopple leaving NightLine, Aaron could move into that spot, he's stated that he's always wanted it. No matter where he goes, he needs to come back. He's too good to waste.

The begining of the End for CNN

It is incredible that Jon Klein fired Aaron: he was the only thing they had left to hold it together: Klein should be gone soon: they really have no idea what was lost: their "credibility" with anyone over 35!!! I'm voting Aaron for ABC anchor: an institution with some fiber: too bad for CNN, they had the chance to become more than another tabloid.

Where is Aaron Brown?

I agree that CNN's loss is our loss. The real question now is, where will this important TV journalist land next? I really need my nightly injection of this relaxed, wry news commentator. I don't know what to do at 10 o'clock.

this "player" has nowt to do with Reading FC, so whats with the link???

Aaron Brown Leaves Large Gap at CNN

I'm simply unable to watch CNN news now that Mr. Brown is gone. He was the best anchor in the business--smart, fair, thoughtful, crisp and succinct. I hope and pray he's back on the air somewhere soon! Pamela Renner Tyler, TX

CNN Yuk!

My husband just looked at me and said," If Aaron Brown was still on CNN, we wouldn't be watching 15 minutes of : The Oprah factor. Good god, do we have no better news to watch than an author who lied about his life on drugs! I, like the others miss him terribly. Hello - It is now late February, I've still be unable to locate Aaron Brown. Like many of you, if he were to go to a different network and start doing the news, I would definitely be there watching him. Has anyone seen him on any TV show? Shirley - Knoxville, TN

Aaron Brown

What is Aaron Brown doing today? Surprised he hasn't surfaced on another network yet...or am I missing something?
