Empire Strikes Back dispute
There is an ongoing dispute regarding whether the Empire Strikes Back article should mention that the Dark Side cave on Dagobah was created by a Bpfassi Dark Side user or somesuch in the Expanded Universe. Please inject some sanity into Talk:Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back#Dagobah Bpfassi cave factoid? so the slow-mo edit war can be put to an end. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 00:07, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
More lightsaber silliness
Here's a table that I've since hidden temporarily on lightsaber combat. Anybody else think this is pure silliness? It reads as follows:
The different lightsaber combat forms can be countered by others forms:
Form | Countered by |
I: Shii-Cho | All, except Form VI |
II: Makashi | Form V |
III: Soresu | Form II |
IV: Ataru | Form VII |
V: Shien / Djem So | Form III ¹ |
VI: Niman | All Forms |
VII: Juyo / Vaapad | So far unknown |
¹ Form III cannot defeat Form V but blocks all its attacks.

- Where in the world did this come from? Star Wars has sunk to THIS level?! Not saying the chart is bad, or the editor is bad (by no means), but if this is true.....what has happened to good 'ol star wars?! Deckiller 23:18, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- IIRC, the seven forms of lightsaber combat were printed in an issue of Star Wars Insider a while back, so I don't think this is fanon... that is, if the forms listed are the correct ones. The Wookieepedian 23:19, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- Besides, it's probably from some videogame. That's the major issue with Star Wars articles: mixing video games with real content; video game battle systems and concepts are there for gameplay, not story. They belong in video game-related articles. Deckiller 23:21, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- The lightsaber forms are canonical, though I think only Vaapad has an actual name. But I don't know where these counters came from. Jedi6 23:23, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- I'd say we exclude it until we have a concrete source and citation. Deckiller 23:35, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- Could be that part of it is extrapolated from the Episode III novel (e.g. "His own Makashi simply did not generate the kinetic power to meet Djem So head-to-head"). -- wacko2 04:51, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
Infobox that doesnt belong
Beside Olié, Ric and Omega Squad there is an Star Wars Character infobox by the title of Vidar, Kim. Even wierder is that the pic name is Ralph_Brown.jpg. Can someone double check, might be a case of secret vandalism.
- Okay apprently Vidar Kim portrayer name is Ralph Brown but still this infobox should be there since it should be beside the entry of Vidar Kim. Tutmosis 21:12, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
- Ralph Brown portrayed Ric Olié. Looking at the history, I think the infobox is just a not-quite-thorough attempt by Dark jedi requiem at cleaning up the Ric Olié article. He probably copied the Vidar Kim infobox which is further up the page. -- wacko2 05:32, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
"You" usage
SPPs are common in gaming articles (for example, "You can go to the top and defeat the boss there.") In reality, this should be changed to "one" or "the player" or "the character" or whatever. Here is a google search: [1] Deckiller 21:49, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
Star wars game information
Star wars game articles, such as Star Wars: Battlefront, have excess game information. Wikipedia is not a game guide; this information should be the subject of a transwiki. Deckiller 21:57, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
Template
If you ever see a Star Wars template without a catergory please add the following code to the template:
<noinclude> [[Category:Star Wars templates|{{PAGENAME}}]] </noinclude>
Thank You. Jedi6 22:23, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
Page
Do we really need this page: List of Star Wars organizations. We have already List of minor Star Wars organizations & List of Star Wars companies. Why do we need an article listing the contents box of these two articles. Tutmosis 22:49, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
- It's a good list to keep all items together; however, we DO have an option; we can combine corporations, organizations, and governments into a large template for navigational purposes. Deckiller 23:04, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
Category
Category:Star Wars organisation page is spelled incorectly, how do i check what articles link to this section since if i rename it we might have a problem. Tutmosis 03:08, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, I think I might need to check, but isn't that how it is spelled in England? I mean, most of our stuff has uses a North American style, so it should probably be changed. I don't mind either way. Deckiller 04:53, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- The old American vs. British style debate. Since Star Wars is an American product we would use American spelling. Also to check what links to a page just go to the first link on the left side of the page below the search bar. It says What links here or you can go to Special:Whatlinkshere/pagename. Jedi6 05:00, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- So what you guys think we should do with this? change it to organiZation? if so probably we gonna have to start a new page and delete this one since their is no move buttom. Tutmosis 13:26, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- I don't mind; we just have to make sure all links are taken care of. Deckiller 18:06, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- Don't delete the catergory. Instead ask for it to be renamed at Wikipedia:Categories for deletion. Don't speedy rename it though. Jedi6 09:30, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Membership
Personally, I'd prefer to work alongside the project rather than as part of it because I don't like to get tied down doing things. I've added this talk page to my watchlist and will contribute if I feel I can add something worthwhile to this project. -- His Imposingness, the Grand Moff Deskana (talk) 08:03, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- Well, you dont have to officially join the project and how ever you would like to contribute is fine with me and hopefully rest of the members. This is wikipedia and all positive contributions are greatly appreciated. Tutmosis 14:32, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, you don't have to officially join the project. We mainly use the membesrhip list to know who to give notices and other things to. Deckiller 16:15, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
Hide Template
Nebulon-B Frigate is listed both in the Vehicles of the Rebel Alliance / New Republic and Vehicles of the Galactic Empire. Apparently it was used by both sides. My question is how do i add that hide option to a template since if we have both templates than the page will look off balanced? Tutmosis 13:55, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure how to use the [hide] function, but I think you could check out the List of Final Fantasy X characters page, which uses a custom template with a hide feature. Deckiller 16:16, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
Todo page
To make it easier to navigate, I'm thinking about using the todo's talk page like the Final Fantasy wikiproject: discussions on the todo list items (outside of some minor comments) will go there, and be archived upon completion. Deckiller 18:18, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- Totally agree! Its clean and organized. Tutmosis 00:24, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
Article assessment
This features defenitely would be a fun part of this project to add. If we were to do it, I think it should work like this: We pick couple articles a day (SW related) and as a community read them over. We make a peer review for the page of all the things than can be improved and vote on a score. Tutmosis 00:41, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with peer reviews. We don't have to have them on a timetable, we can just flag them.
A good process is to:
- SW peer review
- Fix article up based on the review
- Place the article on the index/flag it as a project article
- Hold a Wikipedia Peer Review
- Fix article up based on the review
- Flag it as a Good article
- Any final checks
- Send it into FA.
Deckiller 04:12, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- Also, we can add the scores to the index. We can create a subpage for the "top twenty star wars articles" or whatever. We should probably do multiple assessments; before the path to a FA starts, and after the article reaches GA or FA status. Deckiller 04:13, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- You mean like the Wikipedia:Article Improvement Drive? Jedi6 09:35, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
New article
I just created Darksaber (novel). I'll get to work on a few more novels pretty soon. Deckiller 01:01, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- Cool. It's nice to see a good summary for a SW novel, since a lot of the SW novel pages seems to be either stubs, or very short. I think that a large focus of this project should be the expansion of the SW novel articles that are already created. A lot of them need expansion, IMHO (especially ones like The Thrawn trilogy). The Wookieepedian 04:04, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- Exactly. The only thing we have to be sure of is to make sure all summaries are succinct. There should be three paragraphs, in my opinion. I'd say anything logner than the darksaber plot summary may be too much. Deckiller 04:06, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
Template:StarWars-stub
What does everyone think about User:HereToHelp's latest change to Template:StarWars-stub? Should we keep it in Yoda speak? Jedi6 10:35, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
