This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Ckamaeleon (talk | contribs) at 10:56, 14 March 2006 (+response to "upload file size warning"). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Template:Spoken Wikipedia guidelines On the upload page, paste the following template, and fill in the appropriate information. (Leave the license selector blank)

{{Spoken article entry
|title=
|time=
|user_name=
|date=
|accent=
|sex=
|}}

{{gfdl}}

A sample of what this will display is:

Template:Spoken article entry
  • title refers to the title of the actual article.
  • time is the length of time in minutes and seconds of the article, for example: 12:34
  • user_name is the name of the user who read/uploaded the file, for example: Willmcw
  • date should be a link to the revision that was read, for example: 2005-04-18
  • accent is the regional accent of the reader. See Regional accents of English speakers for the possibilities.
  • sex either Male or Female
  • In addition, if the recording is broken up into a number of parts, you need to add lines just below the "|sex=" line:
  • For each part except the first, add "|first_part=file_name_of_part_1.ogg".
  • For each part except the last, add "|next_part=file_name_of_next_part.ogg".

If you encounter a file size warning, just ignore it. Pretty much any Spoken Wikipedia article will be more than 100kb in size. That's the nature of our work.
