Franchise History

The San Francisco Pilots began American Basketball Association play on November 15th 2005 against the Fresno HeatWave a game in which they won 99-88. The team had a very strong month in November with a record of 6 wins and 1 loss. Due to a steam pipe leakage at Kezar Pavilion, the Pilots were forced into the Potrero Hill Recreation Center for home games on 11/28 and 12/2. The team then suspended play from December 20th, 2005 until January 27th, 2006. The team resumed play against Beijing in Whittier, California on January 27th and won the game 121 to 109, and will play Beijing again on February 1st 2006 at home for their first home game at Kezar Pavilion since repairs. On March 5th, 2006, The Pilots were announced as the West "Alternate" for the ABA Playoffs. The Pilots did not participate in the 2006 ABA Playoffs and the future of the ballclub is uncertain.
