Tourism in Egypt - why does this redirect to Luxor ? There are many tourist hotspots in Egypt that are outside Luxor, right ?
- The entire content of the tourism in Egypt article was about Luxor, so the article was merged and turned into a redirect. I've moved TiE to tourism in Luxor to keep the page history, and turned TiE into a redirect to Egypt. Of course, there ought to be a page on tourism in Egypt... -Sean Curtin 07:24, 10 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Asylum Street Spankers - I love this band. They play on the Bob and Tom radio show syndicated to most of the country. But this article is very POV. Can someone make it NPOV? Mike H 00:50, Jul 10, 2004 (UTC)

- Original research, I'd say. The Australian treatment of ash from /ae/ to /e/ (and the British push from /ae/ to /a/) is much easier to explain with immigration patterns than with any vowel shift. Seems like nonsense to me. Geogre 20:06, 9 Jul 2004 (UTC)

God of the gaps speedy deletion? What is this? - I don't want to speak with too much authority, but this is, to my knowledge, a very minor usage at present. There are better terms for the concept, and I think this has a journalistic/popularizer origin and hasn't taken root. Not speedy, but not overly valuable. Geogre

Climatologist, Climatology - Sounds similar, and should be merged, but the author will not let me redirect from Climatologist to Climatology. Both articles are stubs. [[User:Poccil|Peter O. (Talk)]]
- Moved Climatologist to list of climatologists, linked to it from Climatology, and deleted the duplicated information in climatology. The alleged "author" can deal with it, or not. Getting stroppy about having your pages cleaned up is rude. --Robert Merkel 03:55, 9 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- The page was created less than 24 hours ago. (See [1].) Should we give the original author more time to put in the content before redirecting ? Information on how to get trained and licensed to become a Climatologist may not fit the Climatology page that well, but good for the Climatologist page. Both pages need major expansion, anyway. -- PFHLai 04:16, 2004 Jul 9 (UTC)
- (William M. Connolley 08:34, 9 Jul 2004 (UTC)) Thanks for that last. List_of_climatologists that RM created was pointless: there is a category for that. I've moved Climatologist back. What is this 'alleged "author"' rubbish?
- I agree, there are articles for Physicist, Chemist, etc. No reason not to have Climatologist. Rhobite 16:39, Jul 9, 2004 (UTC)
- Physicist is a stub that could be replaced by a two-sentence entry in physics. Chemist is an even smaller stub that is basically a disambiguation page for two dicdefs. -Sean Curtin 23:04, 9 Jul 2004 (UTC)

- Good News: 'feeding from an unwilling donor is a breach of ethics'. Does Wiki - really need this rubbish? 81.135.121.49 15:39, 8 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- It was a very contentious VfD debate. I think the consensus, such as it was, among the "keep"ers was that some stripping and huge clarifying that this is a fantasy/belief/cult/make believe thing is ok. Not sure, but it was just barely a keep by my count. I think people wanted outside references added, too. Good luck to all you brave souls who undertake it. Geogre 17:37, 8 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- It would be a waste of anybody's time doing anything to this, only one place for it, and it's not on Wikipedia Giano 21:23, 8 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- I'm pretty saure that several of the people who voted "Keep" a) never looked at the article and b) never looked at the section of vampire that makes this article redundant. If this page is still on cleanup by September it should be placed back on VfD. -Sean Curtin 22:26, 8 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Taurus bass pedal synthesizer - looks like a cut-and-paste, but I can't find it. Obviously incomplete, no wikis, POV comment at the end. Similar article from same user deleted as nonsense. - And no article on Moog Music either.
- It would be nice if there were an article on Moog that covered the man, then one on the company that could cover their various enterprises, which includes a list of bass synths. A solo, nonsense, article on one pedal doesn't seem like a good clean job. Geogre 20:27, 9 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Scientific enterprise - formatting is all over the map, article repeats a lot from, say, scientific method, and reads more like an incoherent rant than an encyclopedia article. Michael Johns - new 22:54, 2004 Mar 28; 135 edits, nearly all by 8 IPs that fall into probably 1 or 2 (or, barely conceivably, 4) related groups; the rest, except 1 by User:Editor (with 3 edits total), are by familiar reg'd users. The article has been placed on WP:CU 5 times (and tagged 6 times), and spent a total of about 14 hours there, on May 30-31 and June 9-11. With one exception (where a reg'd user who removing the tag now thinks they made a mistake), Cleanup tag and listing have been taken off by one of these IPs, User:Editor, or (his only edit) User:RobM., claiming when challenged that all the problems have been fixed. Since the first placement on CU, the result has been these changes. My initial concerns were imprecision and some obvious PoV liberties. At this point, i think the pattern of protecting the article from review indicates the need for close scrutiny by a political-science specialist with a track record of NPoV work on WP, on the theory that an "asset" being so heavily "defended" is likely to have PoV too subtle for my inspection (which has, in fact, been quite cursory). I felt that the store entry, if one is to exist, ought to be as precisely named as possible to avoid future problems. (E.g. my objection to "Lakeside School," below: there are dozens of schools by the name, and "Lakeside School, Oregon" would solve the problem.) Geogre - In which case link to (Kohl (disambiguation)]]; if there is a Kohl's equation it will be linked to by that. If there is something called Kohl's and Kohl's only, then it can be moved then. So yes, Lakeside School needs to have a comma, place, but not this one. Kohl's is probably their tradename. (this should go on its talk poage btw) Dunc_Harris|☺

Lakeside School I don't trust myself with VfD these days, but this needs a move and clean. If one goes to Peterson's Guide to secondary education in the US and Canada, one will find a hearty 20-30 private schools named Lakeside. Robert Abbot unimproved since August 2002, I tried to have a go but the academic text was too much for me. -- Graham :) | Talk + clarified somewhat, but information about his actual significance is still needed. Vardion
- Difficult case. The people he's confused with are significant, and I could write about them, but this fellow just wrote books. It's also pretty confusing in the text: he persecuted non-conformists (Puritans), and he's a Puritan? 17th c. language of schism is pretty torturous, and these non-conformists might be Anabaptists, etc. In other words, I'm not sure it can be cleaned more, but the subject passes the significance test. Superficial anatomy - "from an old encyclopedia", in need of wikifying since November, 2002

Punjab University and Panjab University - duplicate articles, must be merged. Apparently, Punjab University was recently renamed as Panjab University. Also more detail is required about the institution. Jam2k
- Panjab University is a copyvio. If someone wants to rewrite, there's good info here. —Stormie 03:46, Jul 2, 2004 (UTC)
- Digging deeper, it's a bit of a mess, sadly. It seems the University of the Punjab was established in Lahore under British rule, now there is a Panjab University in Chandigarh whose website says "the University shifted to Chandigarh in 1956"; and also the University of the Punjab still active in Lahore whose website would have it that there has never been any Punjab University anywhere else. And I'm afraid I'll step into an India-Pakistan minefield if I try to write an article. —Stormie 04:14, Jul 2, 2004 (UTC)

Historia Britonum - cut down excessive quotes?
- No. I've never worked on this article. But I know the the work well and though I see possible additions I might make and minor changes, the sections quoted are very important in respect to later influence and I would let them stand rather than being turned into summary which no matter how well done always distorts in some way. jallan 14:28, 18 Jun 2004 (UTC)
