Bananaland

bananaland or banana republic is a term, describing a country which has government imposed from some foreign major political/military power (usually the USA), in a cynical nondemocratic way, and which serves as a form of colony providing bananas (or some other sort of raw resources) in exchange for military support. Of course, that is all in the name of democracy. In case of the USA, the role of CIA in this business should not be neglected...
