Cyangugu is a town in South West Rwanda close to the border of Democratic Republic of Congo and close to the shores of Lake Kivu.

It is also known Ciangugu.

Cyangugu is home to a prison and is located at 2.48S 28.90E. Population (2002) 19,900.
